Us: We are a small family consisting of three humans - Meagan, Joe, our 12 year old son, A.J., and two furbabies - our 9 year old puggle, Kepa, and our 14 year old male cat, Ceelo. We enjoy camping, riding our ATV and quads, and volunteering for our son's Little League teams.
Our Pets: Kepa was one of the founding members of a meet-up/play group for Puggles in Portland, OR and is very socialized as a result. She is crate trained; sleeps there at night and will be comfortable there in the event of personality differences that require short-term separation. Kepa absolutely loves everyone, 2-legged and 4-legged, alike. Our cat is very shy and will spend the majority of his time upstairs; it is not a requirement that your dog(s) be cat friendly.
Our House: The entire downstairs is free to the dogs; the upstairs is gated off to keep the cat food and litter box off limits. We do not have a doggy door but the dogs are taken out to the back yard every 30-40 minutes and always supervised. We do not require that visitors be crate trained but I do make use of the extra large play-pen areas we have set up in our house for nap time and meal time activities.
Our Yard: We have a nice, private and secured backyard featuring a fenced-off pool that the dogs are welcome to swim in, supervised, weather permitting. The main entrance/exit to the yard is double fenced for safety.
Our Routine: This is my full time profession so I am attending to and entertaining the dogs 95% of the time. I do leave to run quick errands a few times during the week. During the times I can not be actively monitoring the dogs and group activity, I separate them all in to their individual spaces for safety.
Our Clients: We host dogs in the small - medium breed categories. We often have multiple dogs staying with us. Once a spot has been secured I always take into consideration the personalities/sizes of the dogs before accepting any other visitors.
